At Deepak Nitrite, our R&D excellence and innovation-led growth strategy focuses on delivering customer value through differentiated and sustainable products. This capability is powered by Deepak Research and Development Centre (DRDC) at Nandesari, Gujarat. DRDC is a state-of-the-art centralized research facility recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.
DRDC remains committed to pioneering research and development using advanced instruments and technology. A team of dedicated and highly qualified professionals and scientists leads drive innovation at this facility.
The centre is equipped with cutting-edge equipment for advanced research and development of new processes and products. This includes:
Analytical Wing is crucial to DRDC’s scientific workflow, working alongside the synthesis team. The wing houses diverse instruments to support analytical techniques and enhance the quality and precision of the research. It includes:
The team evaluates chemical processes to ensure safe operations and utilizes advanced in-house tools, including:
DRDC’s in-house environmental Lab focuses on sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of industrial activities. The lab:
Our upcoming state-of-the-art R&D Centre at Savli, Vadodara is nearing completion and is expected to be commissioned within this financial year. This sprawling 5-acre campus is envisioned to be a world-class innovation center. Once fully operational, this cutting-edge facility will provide impetus to Deepak Nitrite’s R&D and innovation prowess, driving development of new products and technologies. The centre is meticulously designed to house necessary expertise and resources, such as dedicated R&D teams supported by advanced laboratories, comprehensive analytical facilities, engineering unit, piloting unit, and polymer unit. The facility shall be equipped for secure handling of various hazardous chemicals. It shall feature a dedicated unit for pressure reactors set up, ensuring controlled and safe operations.
DRDC remained intensely engaged in innovation and R&D throughout the year, focusing on addressing plant issues and developing new processes, underscoring our commitment to continuous improvement and technological advancement.
Six products are at commercialization stage including a complex chemistry based platform in fluorine Chemistry.
A product is at the scale-up phase for application in renewable energy sector.
Deepak Research and Development Centre (DRDC) recently launched Athena 2.0, an advanced and secure web platform, evolving from its predecessor, Athena 1.0. This centralized system is revolutionizing DRDC’s research and development activities. Athena 2.0 demonstrates DRDC’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved data management, project oversight, and continuous innovation in scientific research.
We revolutionize our processes throughout the optimization and development phases using advanced and integrated technologies:
SCADA, or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, an advanced control system architecture uses computers, networked data communications, and intuitive graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to monitor and control complex industrial processes. The integration of SCADA allows for the upload of data, fostering future communication and collaboration.
We have implemented five-star level safety interlock process control system to regulate the critical process parameters. This sophisticated system plays a crucial role in ensuring robust process control, mitigating unwanted hazards and safeguarding people and the environment. Safety protocols and controls are further reinforced through external process safety audit for ongoing projects.
DRDC offers advanced literature resources such as SciFinder and Reaxys for literature search, and engineering tools such as Mixit and ASPEN. This ensures our team remains abreast with the latest scientific advancements.
We have created a robust framework of digital security measures to mitigate risks, safeguard our digital assets and enhance our operational resilience.
We have strategically employed cutting-edge technologies to fortify our digital infrastructure, secure sensitive data and reduce the likelihood of breaches. Strong controls have been operationalized to maintain a robust cybersecurity posture and uninterrupted operations.
At Deepak Group, we have established comprehensive incident response protocols executed by a dedicated team, streamlined communication strategies and a systematic approach to contain, mitigate and recover from potential incidents. Robust business continuity planning protocols are in place to ensure uninterrupted operations and quick recovery from potential cyberattacks. Our Security Operation Center (SOC) continuously monitors our systems and ensures appropriate proactive and reactive defences against evolving threats.
To effectively combat cyberthreats, we invest in employee training. We train them and raise their awareness of sophisticated phishing and social engineering attacks and promoting best practices, we ensure our employees are equipped to be the primary defence, fostering a safety-first culture.
Deepak Group prioritize compliance with all laws and regulations related to data protection. This is ensured through regular audits and assessments, aligning operations with cybersecurity and data privacy frameworks, standards and regulations.
To enhance oversight and monitoring for our sites, Deepak Group has set up a centralized, state-of-the-art CCTV control room at the corporate office. This advanced control room enables real-time monitoring of all sites by respective SBU Heads/Corporate HODs. It also streamlines incident investigations at Corporate Level and uses AI-powered alerts for fire & smoke and perimeter intrusion detection.
We have installed and implemented turnstile systems across all our sites to safeguard and manage the access of premises by contract workers, visitors, etc. These systems provide superior access control, actively detecting and deterring unauthorised entries & exits. As an additional benefit, we now directly use data generated from turnstile systems for contractor billing.
